Une interview ! An Interview !

Everything you always wanted to know  about…me ! (sorry, not about what you think) Tout ce que vous avez toujours voulu savoir sur…moi ! (pas trop déçus ?) Some weeks ago, Damien from the culinary website 750g asked to interview me for his «Cuisine and Blog» section ! What ? Me ? Are you sure, Mister Damien ? Maybe you confused me with someone else ? Nope. Nope ? OK, then let’s go ! If you are interested, you can read the interview in Damien’s website here (in french) or the english translation I made,... [Lire la suite]

My Paris #3 : Welcome to our Chinatown ! Bienvenue à Chinatown-Paris !

(we wish you a good visit. Bonne visite) Last week I had a get-together with a group of foodbloggers. We had decided to meet at "our" Chinatown for lunch and then have a shopping session at the local grocery stores and supermarkets. So, I wish you a good visit of this very very typical neighborhood. Paris has the largest Asian Community in Europe. The vast majority of them are Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodgian and Laotian. 20 000 asian people live there, in our Chinatown,  and they own the vast majority of... [Lire la suite]

Comme à Chinatown : Foie de veau sauté Ciboule-Gingembre, Chinatown-like : Sauteed Calf’s liver with Scallion and Ginger

Actually, I am cheating a little bit : this recipe is not really an authentic chinese recipe but rather an eurasian one : in fact, calf’s liver is used a lot in Italian and more specifically in Venetian Cuisine ! And regarding Scallions and Ginger, it immediately came to your mind that they are among the star ingredients in Asian Gastronomy. So today, let us disrupt established cooking rules ! …Well, if you really feel uncomfortable with that, you can make the same recipe with chicken, far more consensual… ... [Lire la suite]

Gâteau d'anniversaire au Toblerone, Birthday Toblerone Chocolate Cake

She made her own birthday cake ! A future foodblogger ? Elle a fait son propre gâteau d’anniversaire ! Une future bloggeuse ? Beware, fellow foodbloggers ! A new competitor has arrived ! When I was 4, the only thing I was interested in was to give and receive hugs from my Mummy. But my little one has decided some days ago that “when I am big, I want to be a cook” (I swear this is true !). So, let me introduce you to her very first recipe; she made her own birthday cake... Curry Rouge de Poulet, Red Curry Chicken

I make my own Green Curry Paste, which I am quite proud of. But I have to admit that I have not even tried to do the same with the Red Curry Paste. Maybe it is because the ingredients are, for me, far less appealing than the armfuls of fresh herbs needed for its Green Counterpart ?! In a few hours, I will meet a group of foodbloggers in our Parisian Chinatown (the 13th arrondissement), so  I might very probably be tempted to buy the “ad-hoc” ingredients, who knows... Je fais moi-même ma pâte de Curry Vert et j’en... [Lire la suite]

The Tiramisu saga : #2 : Tiramisu aux Fraises et aux Framboises, Strawberry and Raspberry Tiramisu

Yes, I know, a Strawberry Tiramisu is not a very original and creative recipe, as we have seen plenty of them in the blogosphere these last weeks ! But well, when you like something, you never get tired of it, do you ? And this recipe is also a good excuse for me to write a new post about the “Tiramisu Saga” I started last January with a very “wintery” Candied Chestnuts Version. Actually, this summery version does not really taste like the original recipe : the ladyfingers are soaked in warm tea instead of coffee, and the top is... [Lire la suite]

Soupe Froide de Poivrons Jaunes et Citrons Confits, Yellow Bellpepper and Preserved Lemon Cold Soup

Before anything, I would like to share my excitment with you : my Strawberry and Mango Tartare recipe has been mentionned in « Le Monde.fr » on May 4th. “Le Monde” is the most famous newspaper in France and its internet version has many many readers too. I found out about it quite perchance, noticing a very unusual peak in my statistics that day. If you have a look at the article, there is a link to my recipe under the word « fraîcheur” (freshness). Now, back to topic, today I have a yellow recipe for you ! Why yellow ? Simply... [Lire la suite]

Une visite au Musée des Arts Décoratifs, A visit to The Decorative Arts Museum

"Nurture in France the culture of the Arts which pursue the realisation of the beautiful in the useful" I visited the Museum of Decorative Arts last week. It is located in a specific aisle of the Louvre Museum, on rue de Rivoli. It is a small sized museum which has re-opened in 2006 entirely refurbished, after a 10 year closure.I have always been fascinated by the way people lived centuries ago and what their interiors looked like and this museum answered many of my questions. 6 000 objects from the middle...
