That was in 2010, ça s'est passé en 2010

Laissez-moi vous présenter mon plat du réveillon 2010. Tentant, non ? Nous avions décidé de faire assez light cette fois-ci et y sommes presque parvenus -enfin, si l'on fait abstraction des toasts de foie gras à l'apéro-...Sinon, l'entrée était  très simple mais jolie comme tout : des petits mille-feuilles de saumon fumé (en feuilles de brick) avec une crème fraîche au wasabi , recette trouvée dans un coffret que j'adore et que je vous recommande. Financiers d'hiver aux agrumes...Winter financiers with citrus fruits

One of the rare things I like in winter are citrus fruits. Isn't it funny that those round-shape, golden colored fruits looking like...the sun are at their peak in the middle of the freezing cold season ? Moreover, they do bring one very good thing along with their deliciously tart flavor : vitamin C ! Great to improve our general shape, and great for our skin and stomach, too. Le gâteau à l'orange de Maman Piège, Mummy Piège's orange cake

Childish, this recipe is, and for two reasons : first, it was one of Jean-François Piège's favorite cakes made by his mother  when he was a kid. Secondly, because it is so easy that is is almost puzzling. So simple that I hesitated to post it on my blog, but then I thought that all respectable cooks need to have some basic and unmissable recipes, don't they ?  It was a hit among my family : everyone loved it no matter their age. Daring Bakers Challenge : La Tresse Danoise/Danish Braid

Danish Braid with Pierre Hermé’s Orange/Passion Fruit marmaladeTresse danoise à la marmelade orange/Passion de Pierre Hermé   Again, a great challenge ! I had never heard of laminated dough before. These DB challenge are really something ! Thanks to them, I happen to make things I would never thought I could actually complete. Thank you !
